Salmon Arm Fall Fair has come and gone.
We had a very busy weekend ..... here are
some highlights from this past weekend.
We were in the Artisan building again this year.
Friday at 4:00 p.m. we did the waulking of handwoven blankets. The public was encouraged to participate.
Getting ready to start, Ann recruited people from the crowd to take part. |
They all started by getting the woven blankets wet and passing it around the table in a 1 2 3 4 rhythm. |
Sherry and Lis with people from the crowd. |
Jill and Sherry listen as Lis explains the process to the rest of the team. |
Ann explaining the process to people on the other side of the tables. |
Almost done, Carole and Lis measuring to see if it needs to be waulked some more. |
After the waulking process is done, you then brush your blankets to get a nice soft nap on them. |
When the waulking process is done then Lis and Jill will cut the blankets apart. |
Saturday we had 5 teams competing in the Sheep to Shawl competition. This started at 11 a.m. with the judging of the completed shawls at 4:15 p.m. The teams were:
