There will be lots to see at R.J. Haney Heritage Week. See you there!

Salmon Arm Fall Fair.

Noelle C. is getting ready to dye some wool in
her pot!

Ann L. is working on her tapestry loom.

The peg loom is all set up, maybe some of the kids
passing by will give it a try.  Anyone can try out
the peg loom, it is real easy to work on.

Sharing a bit of the Guild's history.

Spinning wheels were all set up ready to go.

Lot's of beautiful tea towels on display and for sale.

Stop by the mall and have a look.  There are
rugs, scarves, tea towels and more.

Loanna K. has her beautiful knits for sale,
check out her feather knit cards too.

It is always a joy seeing Lynne, such a cheerful
lady! The people enjoyed stopping by to watch
her spin with the long draw technique.

Jennifer in the back ground needle felting on her fairy house.
She even let the kids try using her felting needle,

amazing no one poked themselves!
Darlene was there everyday spinning!

Here's Jennifer's felted items. A few of the kids
were ready to bring some of those cuties home
with them.
Everyday the ladies brought woven or knitted
items for show to the public.
 Some were even for sale.

.... and of course a table of recorded history of
the past 40 years as a guild. 1979 - 2019!

Sherry has donated an excellent book “ Seamless Knit Sweaters”

Louise motioned that we purchase the “ Weft Faced Rugs” book and it was seconded by Liz. :

Question was asked “ should we have a book budget?” after discussion it was decided that books of interest should be brought forward to the guild at large on a book by book bases.

Equipment Report: Ann Nikmo spoke: a badly needed step stool was purchased as well as a trolley (on sale)

-a wool rug warp is currently on the Leclerc loom and it is meant for finer wools and wools that will pack well (ie., the old White Buffalo or similar unspun as well as Noro and/Kauni unspun), the warp is 9.00 a yard, Ann has a sign up sheet.

-a colour gamp is on the other loom, it is a 12 yard warp, so enough for 12 tea towels, please sign up with Ann. Cost is 10.00 if you use your own cottons or 15.00 if you choose to use the guilds cottons

Some of our larger equipment such as the two carders we have, are to be rented by the month only, as there is often a waiting list to rent it.   We also require having the carders present at our main event’s, the next being  Heritage Week at Piccadilly Mall from Feb 17th to 21st.

Our Policies and Procedures are being re-written by the executive, to clarify this.

OLD BUSINESS

         - motion made to grant Louise the authority to approach the IPE on behalf of the guild regarding a larger space at no financial cost to the guild,  Sherry made the motion, Jennifer seconded and motion passed “ All in favour”.
-the reason we are at the IPE is to demonstrate how we make “stuff” from our wonderful world of fibre and to hopefully interest the public to learn more.
