  5th Annual Spin Out 2019
hosted by the Shuswap Spinners and Weavers.
It was held on Saturday, October 26th.
What a great time getting together with friends
we have made along the way.
We are also Celebrating 40 years as a guild from 1979-2019!

Ladies sitting in designated groups. It is always exciting to meet someone new.
This is the Purple group with Carole, Sara and Barb.

Gudie visiting in the blue group.

Jennifer, Ann and Nikki in the orange group.

Our yellow group.
This is an amazing new e-spinner
and Maureen's first time spinning!
We were getting a demonstration.

40 years a guild! We have been celebrating all year long!
The celebration is not over yet!

In honor of our 40 years most of the guild members wove
a colour gamp bag or tea towels.  Here are a few on display.

Such beautiful bright colours!

Some of the ladies also knitted 40 tiny socks ...
do you see the tiny sweater on the line too?

Thank you Ann for being our MC, she did a wonderful job.

We had 7 vendors. This is Nicole from
"That Darn Yarn Shop" in Kamloops.
She has a wonderful processing mill there.

Nicole Link-Loehr processed most of the other vendors fibre.  She's one busy lady!

Rebecca Keen from "Crannog Ales and Left Fields"
is from Sorrento. You can find Rebecca at most of our local Farmers Markets.

Erynn Carney from "Twisted Fae Fibre Works"
is from Kamloops.

Erynn has such beautiful things for sale!

Margaret Fryatt from "Ranfurly Farm"

Margaret's wool has been processed at
"That Darn Yarn Shop"

Lynn Anderson "West Coast Colours" is from Tappen,
her farm is called Sheep in the Shuswap. Lynn is one
busy lady too. You can find her at most Farmers
Markets in Salmon Arm and Sorrento.
and ... Lynn sure does have beautiful colours!
💚💛💜💝💕💖💙  She dyes her own wool.

Bea Johnson with "Long Neck Fibres"... a cut above!
Rod and Bea raise alpacas, angora and boer goats at their
Ida View Ranch here in Salmon Arm. Their alpaca fibre is

processed by hand and some by "That Darn Yarn Shop".
Ann Carmichael from ABC Knits" selling her
sock knitting machine gifts is from Kamloops.

Anne has a lot more for sale than just her socks and knitted toys.

All the vendors had lovely stuff for sale on their sales tables.

Margaret did a DYI Dye for Dummies, 3-4 simple dye techniques using readily available colour (food colouring, kool aid and yes... icing gel)!

More information of her demo will be posted on this blog.

This is for folks afraid to dye their fibre
for fear they won't get it right.

Minimal mess, minimal fuss, minimal materials
and good results.

An amazing 20 minute workshop for the group!

Thank you Ann for assisting Margaret with her demo.

The skeins coming out of the crock pot.

Beautiful colours!

The good thing about dying with food colouring, kool aid and icing gel
is you can use your regular cooking pots and utensils.

Wa-la, colours look beautiful!

Even Margaret is surprised!
No... I think she was answering questions from the group.

Thank you Myrna for looking after the table decorations again this year.
The vases look amazing!

Vases with felted autumn leaves.

Our kitchen helpers. Carole did a wonderful job of keeping things in order
and Geri was right there keeping up with all the small tasks!

We would like to thank the 10 or more amazing ladies that worked in the kitchen Friday afternoon putting our lunch together.  Without their help we would still be there! Thank you ladies. You know who you are!

Tabbouleh Couscous salad along with veggie, meat and cheese trays,
pickles and buns.

Wonderful kale and spinach salad was served too.

Our wonderful kitchen staff, Carole, Marianne, Bev and Geri.
We had Thia coconut squash soup and borscht

as well as all the other amazing food.
Let's eat!  Carole and Bev serving the soup,
Geri and Bea keeping the flow going.

Thank you to all the ladies for providing the delicious baking!
