History:
The Shuswap Spinners and Weavers Guild started up in September 1979 with the aim of networking and sharing knowledge about spinning and weaving.   Over the years, the Guild has organized workshops, put on public demonstrations and displays, and held sales of work created by its active members.

Annual Special Events:
Displays and demonstrations for the public are an important function of the Guild. Members are encouraged to participate at Heritage Days held at the Piccadilly Mall, the Armstrong I.P.E. (Interior Provincial Exhibition), Salmon Arm Fall Fair, R.J. Haney Village and Museum and World Day Knit In. These functions are a lot of fun for the group and for the public

Monthly Meetings:
Are held the first Monday of each month (except during the summer) downstairs at the Salmon Arm Recreation Centre in Room 2. Check Upcoming Events for meeting times and Fibres Unlimited.  A short business meeting is followed by a program, refreshments and show-and-tell.  This is where you can join the guild, memberships are $20.00.
Visitors are always welcome !

The Guild minutes of meetings, news updates and photos are available on the blog which was  established October 2010.  Shuswap Spinners and Weavers . (http://shuswapspinnersweavers.blogspot.com)  Members are encouraged to submit items of general interest to the Shuswap Spinners and Weavers Guild (shuspin@gmail.com). 
 If members have items for sale, they can be posted to the blog.  Member websites can also be listed on the blog, send your request and info to.... (shuspin@gmail.com).

Lending Library /Equipment Rental

TO BORROW FROM THE LIBRARY (from the Guild Room):
Members may also borrow from the Guild's extensive Lending Library of resources dealing with all aspects of the fibre arts. 
Please fill out the card in the front pocket of the book that you would like to borrow as indicated and place the card in the appropriate section of the file box on the desk. 
There is an overdue charge of $1 per item for each month over the one month lending period. 
Fees payable to our current librarian.

TO BORROW EQUIPMENT (from the Guild Room):
1) Fill out the equipment page in the red book, relating to the item borrowed.
2) Make your deposit/rent to Shuswap Spinners and Weavers.
3) Equipment is due back by the next meeting.  Please sign in the date returned.  The $150. cheque 
    will be held as a damage deposit.  Hopefully this will eliminate problems of equipment not being
    signed out.

Guild Room #3
Prior to the meetings guild members meet for study sessions. The guild looms for group projects, as well as the lending library and equipment for rent are all stored in Room 3.

Workshops:
Each year the Guild endeavors to put on workshops at both beginner and advanced levels. Some workshops are given by our own guild members and some workshops are given by guest instructors.
