Day Time Spin In At Gudie's

It was supposed to be a Spin In and it turned into a strum-in.
Looks like Wendy, Darlene and Gudie had way too much fun!
Thank you Gudie for the picture and thank you Elvi for being the photographer!

 Workshop on Colour
On Saturday June 10th Sherry Barker hosted an informative workshop on Colour after attending the workshop herself on Salt Spring Island.  This workshop was not only for weavers, if you knitted, sewed, crochet, embroidered, it was for you! We enjoyed exploring colour in a group setting.  This workshop helped us to see colour in an easy and different way, and gave us some fun ideas going into our summer projects.

Here is Sherry, asking us to pick out a picture from a magazine.

From there we were going to explore all the colours in that picture.

The workshop was well attended.

With 19 in attendance.

We all took turns picking out a colour scheme from our picturres.

June Show and Tell
and Pot Luck Dinner

We had a wonderful display of food from our guild members.

There were many different varieties to choose from.

Every June we have a pot luck dinner then break for the summer.

Louise showed us her many tea towels.

Carmen brought her felting.

Love the colours!

All with a unique pattern.

Love the art work that goes into Carmens felting!

Mona was weaving too! This was a beautiful piece of material
she wove to sew a new top.

Darlene wove some material and made a vest.

Lis knit this beautiful shawl.

Lis also was weaving tea towels.

Ann showing her dying she did at Lis's.
All ready to warp up her loom.

Ann wove some blankets for wedding gifts.
She's one busy lady!

Here is Judith's beautiful rug she wove!
All material she spun from her own sheep.

In June we are displaying our woven clothing we made.
Ann brought a couple of vests for our Piccadilly Show Case.

Sharon brought a couple of vests too.
This white one with a beautiful trim.

A blue country style vest and a nice black one.

Loise made a cowl she wove, for our show case too.

Loise makes a great model!
Love the colour of this cowl!
Welcome Marianne, our newest member.
Here is a skein she has spun at the Wednesday night spin ins
and a very colourful roving that she has been spinning recently.
