Committee Reports:

Treasurer: Noelle's report given by Lis. Some income from sales and memberships with expenses for the room rent. Less income from the Fall Fairs this year over last year. Morna Thomson won the tea towel. Lin Hylton won the sweater and hat at the Salmon Arm Fair. Sharon moved the report be adopted, seconded by Julia, carried.

Equipment: Mini combs are missing and one carding machine.

To use equipment: Put your name in the equipment book, with date and also put the date you returned the equipment. Please ensure the equipment is returned in good condition, advise us of any issues noted. Put your cheque in the pouch at the front of the equipment book. If using equipment in the guild room, please record that beside your name in the sign in book (this gives the equipment person a better idea of what is being used and what to check on for routine maintenance).

Library: Please put your name and date on the card and put the card in the recipe file box. When returning the book put the date on the card and place in the envelope and replace the book in the proper spot on the shelf. Loan period is for one month.

Historian: Wendy has a binder with history of the more recent variety.

Workshops: Glenda is asking us to each bring a skein of yarn or fibre to the December meeting and then each person will take a skein and create something before the June potluck. Glenda is also looking into a retreat at Sorrento Centre.

Programs: Gudrun will do a show and tell and talk about a workshop she can teach on pick-up leno.

Old Business:

Quilt Show and Haney Heritage visits: Ann gave a brief report on the success and welcomed participation at each event. The Waulking event was particularly well supported by guild members and lots of fun to do.

Fall Fairs: Sharon stated the weather was a bit of deterent for visitors but things went well, Sharon had to fight to keep the location we were in and will start earlier next year to secure the location.

Salmon Arn Fall Fair, Elvi said that roughly 50% participated in the fair. A Demonstration Sheep to Shawl was held and there were many conversations with visitors. Much more low key than usual. Less expensive for the guild. Darlene and Elvi put on a warp for tea towels that were woven at both fairs. Over $300 was raised from the tea towels. 550 hours were donated as time for the Salmon Arm fair. Sunday, only one entry for the spinning for the competition. Elvi suggests that more guild members come and spin on the Sunday from 11 to 2 so we have a show of spinning.
Spin-In commitee will report in November. No report tonight from the committee looking into hosting a multi-guild spin in.

Constitution: Some items are straight forward and others are more controversial. We might produce a paper packet to give to give to each member. Think about things and let Lis know by e-mail what your thoughts are, so that at the November meeting we can vote on whether to have this or not. Discussion revolved about members in good standing and participation in sales events without volunteering time to help in any way at the various guild events.

Keys- 5 keys are accounted for.
Blanket Costs, $27 per participant
Waulking Project: sign the list that is going around to show interest.

New Business:

Knitting Machine: Pearl talked about the machine and showed us a few items she had made. A suit, a sweater and socks where she ribbed the top.

Using guild equipment: A collapsible tent for use at guild events, moved by Sara we buy a tent at the most economical price, seconded by Catherine, carried. A tarp might be needed on rainy occasions.

Anne C. moved that the guild sock machine to allowed to leave the guild room after lessons with a mentor, seconded by Louise. Putting a deposit cheque in the box applies and the machine is to be checked out to ensure the equipment is in proper condition before the cheque is returned. The suggested deposit be $200 and the rent per month be $25.00 Carried. Anne C. will check out the equipment to assure it is returned in good repair.
