Picadilly Heritage Week - Shuswap Back to Back

Hi Everyone,

What a week we have had at the mall!!,  The Made in the Shuswap Back to Back epitomized what our guild is.  From the idea people;  how about dyeing some (Marg), how about some art yarn (Melissa), how about we get the fleece ahead of time (Noelle), how about doing some Kool-aid dyeing in advance (Noelle), to the doers.  Sara made art yarn in the colours of the rainbow so Noelle and Ann dyed fleece into similar hues then it was to the mall.

Monday had demonstrations of washing, dyeing and preparing fleece for spinning where we welcomed Jenny, Elvi, Rod and Emily's help getting all the colours ready for spinning.

Tuesday, what a crew, spun, plied and got the yarn ready for knitting.  (Encouragers Barbara, Rita, Michelle, Gabriele; spinners Gudrun, Venke, Darlene, Elvi, Noelle, Thea, Sara,
Anne, Ann, Mona; demonstrating felting Gwen)  Some rethinking on the colours sent Sara and Ann home to dye more fleece while Jenny quickly knit the ribbing for the body and sleeves.

Wednesday the knitting started and what fun to see how the colours would work.

Thursday saw Gloria, Elvi, Jean, Wendy, Anne, Catherine, and Jenny knitting, spinning, carding etc.

Final ribbing was added Friday morning and then the sewing began with Darlene weaving in many ends and Ann and Noelle meeting the 2 pm deadline for completion.

Without everyone working and helping this project wouldn't have been nearly as much fun.

THANK YOU everyone!   THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Thanks to Elisabeth for modelling our completed sweater.
